Calling all NOAR participants aged 50 and over who have Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
You are invited to help with research examining links between memory and cognition (how efficiently the brain is working) and rheumatoid arthritis.
Background
The NOAR research team has extended the NOAR study to collect research data on memory and cognition (how the brain works). The aim is to build a database of cognitive assessments within the whole of NOAR’s well established register of people with RA. The data collected can then be used to provide answers regarding how cognitive ability changes in RA and relationships with clinical factors (e.g. disease activity, treatment) and will guide future research applications.
The Study
We are inviting NOAR participants with Rheumatoid Arthritis aged 50 and over to complete a series of online cognitive assessments. Taking part is easy and done from home, there is no need to attend any hospital appointments. You will need access to a computer or tablet that can display a browser window of 1,000 pixels or more and have a valid email address and working internet connection to take part. The cognitive assessments are currently unavailable on mobile phone devices as the screen size is too small. Detailed instructions on how to complete each assessment will be provided and should take around 30 minutes to complete.
You are eligible to take part in this additional study if you:
Before you decide, it is important for you to understand why this additional NOAR research is being done and what it will involve. Please take time to read the participant information sheet (link below) carefully. If there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information please contact the study team on noar@uea.ac.uk
